Classroom Vocabulary + demostratives

 WELCOME BACK!

In a recent class, two groups of my classmates took charge, each focusing on a different topic. One group introduced us to demonstrative adjectives, helping us master words like "this," "that," "these," and "those" to point out specific objects. Meanwhile, the other group covered vocabulary related to items commonly found in a classroom. Their teaching methods were engaging and practical, making it easy to grasp these essential language concepts while encouraging active participation from everyone.

Classroom Vocabulary

Arocha’s group led an engaging lesson on vocabulary related to items commonly found in the classroom. They covered words like whiteboard, pencil, computer, fan, eraser, remote control, and desk, among others. Each item was clearly explained and demonstrated, making it easier for us to understand their usage and importance in the classroom. To reinforce our learning, they introduced a fun activity—playing the game of Ahorcado, or Hangman. This interactive game challenged us to recall the vocabulary we had just learned while having a great time with our classmates. The combination of teaching and playful practice made the session informative and enjoyable, creating a relaxed atmosphere that helped solidify the new words in our memory.

Demonstrative

Xochilt’s group focused on teaching us about demonstrative adjectives, guiding us through the differences between words like this, that, these, and those, and explaining their correct use in various contexts. After a clear and detailed explanation, we moved on to an activity where we filled in a worksheet, selecting the appropriate demonstrative for each blank. This hands-on practice helped reinforce our understanding. To conclude the session, we classified different words into categories based on the appropriate demonstrative, which further solidified the lesson and gave us a deeper grasp of how to use them correctly in everyday situations.

This week’s lessons were engaging and insightful, as we explored two important language topics. Arocha’s group helped us expand our vocabulary with classroom-related items, making learning fun with an interactive game of Ahorcado. Meanwhile, Xochilt’s group broke down the complexities of demonstrative adjectives, guiding us through practical activities that deepened our understanding of how to use these terms accurately in sentences. Both lessons offered valuable opportunities to practice and apply new knowledge dynamically.

Goodbye for now and see you next week for more exciting learning experiences!
